Membrane Distillation Crystallizer for Salt Production
This project presents the crystallization of rejected brine from seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) plants through an innovative Membrane Distillation Crystallization (MDCr) system. In addition, it provides a sustainable brine management process, enabling resource recovery, which has greater economic importance. Therefore, this approach also helps in mitigating environmental challenges associated with the brine disposal. Preliminary findings from the pilot-scale implementation will demonstrate its technical feasibility and highlights economic advantages as membrane crystallizer.

NRW Management: An Overview of Challenges and Tools
High non-revenue water (NRW) in water supply systems is a global problem wasting valuable resources (water, chemicals and energy) and its management is a key challenge for water utilities worldwide. Very often lack of clear understanding of the causes of this high NRW and its key components hinders successful implementation of water loss reduction programmes.
