IDWS Concludes with Several Agreements to Support Innovation and Water Technology Development
The Innovation Driven Water Sustainability Conference (IDWS 2025) concluded its events in Jeddah, with the third day witnessing the signing of a number of specialized agreements supporting advanced technologies, research, and innovation in the water sector.
On the closing day, the Saudi Water Authority signed five agreements, including cooperation with Wadi Taibah Company (Taibah University) in the fields of technology and digital transformation, an agreement with Yokogawa to develop innovative AI-based leakage detection methods, and an agreement with Meidensha Corporation to advance ceramic membrane technologies for primary water treatment. The agreements also included cooperation with Najran University to develop photocatalysts for treating emerging contaminants, in addition to a training agreement with GI AQUA to implement specialized training programs.

During the earlier days of the conference, agreements were also signed in the areas of education and training, service regulation, advanced technologies, innovation and entrepreneurship, and operational sustainability, with the participation of government entities, private-sector organizations, and international companies.
Notably, over the course of its three-day program, the conference witnessed the signing of a total of 27 cooperation agreements across five main areas: advanced technologies, capacity building, innovation and entrepreneurship, service efficiency enhancement, and research and development cooperation, further strengthening the development pathway of the sector and the sustainability of its services.
