Omar Daoud

PhD researcher in Engineering University of Oxford

Omar is a PhD researcher in Engineering at the University of Oxford, specializing in seawater desalination and green cement production. With over five years of experience in water desalination and brine mining, his research focuses on developing integrated, eco-friendly processes for sustainable development and advancing a circular economy. Omar graduated with first honors in his Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Chemical Engineering from King Saud University. He has held roles as a Research Assistant at the King Abdullah Institute for Nanotechnology, working on membrane-based technologies and Zero Liquid Discharge systems, and as a CO₂-offset consultant at Oxford, advising on decarbonization strategies. He is a scholar of the Oxford-Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation and the recipient of prestigious awards, including the King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy fellowship. Omar’s active contributions to research projects and international collaborations reflect his dedication to enabling sustainability for a greener future.
