Ahmed has over 35 years of experience in all aspects of water and environmental management. Ahmed served as Water Resources Planner in the Egyptian Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation for 15 years and moved to the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency where promoted to be the first deputy minister and the Chief Executive Officer of the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency from 2014-2017. He jointed UNDP in 2012 as a water Resources senior expert and he is working now as Senior Management Mentor for Water and Oceans in the UNDP Ocean Innovation Challenge, where he provided technical and managerial support to the innovation projects to protect the Ocean ecosystem and support the implementation of SDG-14. Ahmed has a Bachelor in Civil Engineering from Cairo University in 1983 and M.Sc. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Utah State University, USA in 1994.
