Mustakeem Ahmad is a dedicated researcher at the Water Technologies Innovation Institute and Research Advancement (WTIIRA), Saudi Water Authority. Previously, he founded and served as CEO of JalUday EnviroTech Pvt. Ltd., a startup company specializing in innovative water filtration solutions for affordable and environmental sustainability. He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Thuwal, where his research focused on enhancing the efficiency of membrane distillation desalination systems through localized heating. In addition to his technical expertise, Mustakeem is deeply involved in social and entrepreneurial initiatives. During his academic career, he took on numerous student leadership roles in professional organizations such as the International Water Association (IWA), Toastmasters Club, Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Student Advisory Committee of the BESE Division, KAUST Office of Enrichment, SAVERA-DCRUST, and several nonprofit organizations. His current research focuses on advancing water pretreatment for SWRO, exploring innovative techniques for sustainable desalination, and environmental assessments of desalination plants. Known for his creativity and out-of-the-box thinking, Mustakeem approaches challenges with a practical mindset, consistently evaluating solutions in terms of implementation and feasibility. He has a strong background in water process engineering and is passionate about community-driven water solutions.
