Dr. Christopher Fellows

Member of subcommittee and the IUPAC Subcommittee on Polymer Terminology

"Earned a PhD in polymer chemistry under the supervision of A/Prof Ernest Senogles at James Cook University, held several fixed-term appointments in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the University of Sydney, and then joined the University of New England (UNE) as a Lecturer in 2004. He left UNE in 2019 to join the research centre of the Saudi Water Authority (formerly Saline Water Conversion Corporation) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is now a Senior Water Expert there. Since 2022 he has been an Adjunct Professor at UNE. Dr. Fellows’ research focus is the application of fundamental physical chemistry to solve problems in the water sector. Projects he is currently most invested in are control of evaporation from water storages, development of improved antiscalants for high temperature and high concentration applications, and brine valorisation with a focus on technoeconomic analysis through the lens of physical chemistry. Dr Fellows was the Chair of the IUPAC Subcommittee on Polymer Education (2018-2022) and is currently a member of that subcommittee as well as the IUPAC Subcommittee on Polymer Terminology. He has supervised 12 PhD students to completion and co-authored over 120 peer-reviewed publications, which have been cited over 4500 times with a h-index of 34. "
