Dr. Troy Y. Tao is an Associate Professor at Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) and managing editor of Environmental Science and Ecotechnology (Impact Factor 14.0, JCR 2023). His research interest is dark data mining from urban water systems, driving proactive water management strategies. He is the Co-Founder of ROMIDAS, the world’s first real-time system for microbial analysis in water, and PuriPilot, an advanced underwater robot for high-resolution water quality monitoring in digital twin ecosystems. Dr. Tao holds Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D. degrees in Environmental Science and Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, with joint doctoral training at Delft University of Technology (2011–2013). He completed postdoctoral research at Imperial College London (2015–2018). With over $1 million in research funding and more than 50 Published articles, Dr. Tao has made significant contributions to his field and currently holds an H-index of 29 on Google Scholar.
