Gustavo Saltiel is an international expert in Water Supply and Sanitation. He served as Global Lead for WSS at the World Bank (2019–2024), leading global work on utilities, policies, institutions, regulation, and water security initiatives.Since joining the Bank in 2003, he has held senior roles across regions, including Sector Leader for Sustainable Development in Mexico, Program Manager for International Waters in Africa, and Lead WSS Specialist for Latin America, based in Peru.Before joining the Bank, he was CEO of Aguas Bonaerenses and held leadership roles at the private concessionaire Azurix and at the Buenos Aires Regulator (ETOSS), where he oversaw planning, regulatory affairs, and service quality. His career reflects a strong commitment to building effective, sustainable water institutions worldwide.
