H․E․ Eng. Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al-Abdulkarim

Recognized as one of the most prominent leaders in the water sector. He is known for his pivotal role in institutional and strategic transformation, as well as in advancing privatization efforts within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Under his leadership, the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC)—now known as the Saudi Water Authority—has achieved a series of transformative milestones that reflect its global leadership. The Authority has become the world’s largest producer of desalinated water, with a production capacity exceeding 11.5 million cubic meters per day, through both desalination and water treatment plants. Eng. Al-Abdulkarim has overseen major advancements in innovation, cutting-edge technologies, and research, alongside directing the implementation of large-scale national projects in water production, transmission, and strategic storage. He has been instrumental in leading sector-wide reforms, driving strategic transformation, and advancing privatization initiatives across the Kingdom.
